Guilin Yusi Integrated Water Management and Urban Design Workshops
Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities
As part of our partnership with the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities, E2Designlab provided expertise as part of a series of design workshops in Guilin, China. The project has been selected as a showcase project from which the Chinese Government will source transferable knowledge to support their water sensitive development journey.
The workshops explored the integration of all aspects of water, energy and nutrient management with urban design and planning. The site is a former sculpture park which will be developed in the future. The resource management solutions will influence future land use and infrastructure design. The workshops explored a range of options including wastewater reuse, energy recovery, food production, stormwater reuse, peak flow management and waterway and lake health.
Water Sensitive City Outcomes:
- responsive design for climate
