Ecological Assets and WSUD Condition Audit and Management Plans
Sydney Olympic Park Authority
E2Designlab undertook comprehensive asset management plans and concept designs for 158 ecological assets, many of which form part of the legacy of the Green Games built specifically for ecological restoration, nature conservation, stormwater treatment and harvesting. These assets include mangrove wetlands, saltmarsh wetlands, waterways, freshwater wetlands, and habitat for endangered and threatened species including the Green and Golden Bell Frog. Consideration of climate change, rising sea level and other threats is informing the management plans to ensure the wetlands and waterways are healthy, resilient and able to adapt to changing conditions. This will ensure their ecological values and legacy continues for generations ahead. Importantly, the Asset Management Plan (AMP) provides a strategic financial management plan that is underpinned by a current assessment of asset condition. It also provides additional supplementary technical information on each asset, including its supporting infrastructure, condition ratings, maintenance and recommended improvement works to address key issues, risks and degradative processes. The AMP guides the implementation of future works to support the long-term sustainability of the wetlands and the ecological values they provide.
