St Gregory’s College Water Sensitive Urban Design
St Gregory’s College, Sydney
E2Designlab developed an integrated water management strategy for St Gregory’s College in south western Sydney, identifying issues and opportunities for cost savings and reduced impact on the environment. A water balance was prepared to quantify the various urban water streams providing important information for improved water management and for design of water management infrastructure.
A concept design and development application were prepared for a stormwater harvesting scheme that provided water suitable for irrigation of playing fields. The wetlands and pond are integrated with a retarding basin (on-site detention) to mitigate potential flooding impacts downstream of the site.
Detailed design and construction drawings prepared focussed on providing for future opportunities to extend the scheme, optimising treatment performance and integrating greater operational flexibility for water storage and irrigation.
The wetlands and harvesting infrastructure will be constructed in 2016.
