Porous Pavement in Action

In September four of our team spent the day testing permeable pavement on the streets of Melbourne. What a difference cleaning made to these sites! Check out the disappearing act in the footage from the end of the day. We are currently assisting the City of Melbourne with ongoing research into optimised maintenance frequencies for these impressive systems. This site on Harris Street in Melbourne's inner north-west has underground structural soils which are linked to the adjacent mature trees (more than 1m in trunk diameter!), providing passive irrigation and additional soil volume, both significant helpers to tree health.
