E2D Celebrates 2018

E2Designlab's Melbourne and Brisbane offices celebrated the festive season together with a summery walk along the banks of the  Birrarung Marr* and festivities in the beautiful Alexandra Gardens.

The talented Dean Stewart transported the team back in time as part of his Aboriginal Yarra River tour - 'Walkin Country, Walkin Birrarung'. This was the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon, ask those burning questions, view Melbourne from a different perspective and understand the impact of the areas growth and colonization on the indigenous population and incredible natural heritage. We truly were transported back to the 'temperate Kakadu'. It was a fantastic experience that has given the team a common reference point as we continue to develop our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)**.

Next up, we sidled over to the gardens for the dreaded mandatory 'team bonding activities'. Our photographic take on a treasure hunt fired up the competitive juices, uncovered a few undercover E2D artists, and delivered some predictably nerdy water content ;)

To wrap things up we feasted on Greek delights on the banks of the river before conducting the most raucous Age Superquiz of the year. Finally, we hosted an impromptu egg-and-spoon race to settle the treasure hunt once and for all!

Thanks to the E2D team for capping off a great year in style!

*'Birrarung' is the traditional name of the Yarra River; and 'marr' refers to the mist that sometimes settles over the Birrarung. Loosely the words are often translated to 'river of mists'. Learn more here.

** The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) program provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement. More info here.
